This Daily Celery Juice Ritual Will Transform Your Health

I recently discovered the powerful impacts of drinking fresh celery juice each morning on an empty stomach and my gut is healthier than it’s ever been.

According to the blog on medicalmedium.com (which I highly recommend), “Just 16 oz. of fresh celery juice every morning on an empty stomach can transform your health and digestion in as little as one week.”

Their blog goes on to say “Celery juice also has significant anti-inflammatory properties making it highly beneficial for those who suffer from autoimmune conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Migraines, Vertigo, IBS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriasis, Eczema, Acne, Lupus, Guillain-Barre, Sarcoidosis, Raynaud’s, Meniere’s, GERD, Bursitis, Restless Leg Syndrome, and Gout.”

Wow. That’s powerful. But I wouldn’t have believed it just from reading about it. After reading one of Medical Medium’s books about healing mystery illnesses, I decided to give the daily celery juice ritual a try. I have had gut inflammation, gas, bloating and other symptoms off and on for years, so I was motivated. Plus, I’ve been told in the past I had IBS, Psoriasis, and Eppstein-Barr Virus. If celery juice can help with that, then why not?

After drinking the celery juice each morning on an empty stomach for 5 days I saw a big difference in how I felt and many of my symptoms lessened or were completely gone. Now I’m hooked and this daily celery juice ritual is a key part of my wellness plan.

Here’s how you do it:

Celery Juice

  • 1 bunch organic celery* (makes approx 16oz juice)

Wash 1 bunch of celery, chop and run through a juicer, drink immediately for most therapeutic benefits. However, if you prefer, you can also blend the celery in a Vitamix, Nutribullet, or any high speed blender with a little water and either drink as is, or strain as desired.

Health Coach Tip

I keep bunches of celery prepped (chopped) and in individual containers in my fridge. Each morning I take one container out of the fridge, dump the celery in my vitamix, add a little purified water and blend. I then strain the celery juice and drink it immediately. You want to always make the juice fresh and drink it immediately so it doesn’t oxidize in order to get the most benefits.

Optional: if you find the taste of straight celery juice too strong, you can add a cucumber &/or an apple to the juice, however this will slightly dilute its effectiveness. Or, if you prefer a more gentle juice you can make straight cucumber juice instead which is also very healing and beneficial.

If you want to learn more about how to heal and balance your body order Medical Medium’s book below. I’ve read it 3x already and I highly recommend it, especially if you’ve ever been diagnosed with a “mystery illness.”

  1. Angela, I’d really like to know if you’ve tried any other suggestions of medical medium for your GI distress. I have severe gut trouble and I do have his book. I have been pretty skeptical of some of his far out statements.. I’m going to try the celery juice, after reading your testimony, and see what happens. Just want to know what else worked??

    1. Of course! I tried his recommended diet and meal plans in his book – Mysterious Illnesses- and my overall health improved and my gut never felt better. I highly recommend it and have found everything I’ve tried that he recommends to be beneficial for my well-being. Other things that worked- adding a lot more fruit to my diet (mangos, apples, berries, citrus), drinking lemon water, and following a primarily plant-based diet. I hope this helps! Thanks for reading and for leaving a comment. All the best to you 🙂

    1. I use a metal mesh strainer with a handle. It works great. You could also use a nut milk bag, but the fine strainer does the trick!

  2. I’ve been drinking celery juice for 2 weeks, just the past couple days I’m experiencing upset stomach/belching… could this be part of the detox?

    1. Hi Beth, I’m so glad you are giving it a try! There are so many variables that could be playing a role to the problems you are having and I wouldn’t automatically think it is connected to the celery juice. I’d need to know more, feel free to email me via my website if you’d like to explore this further. And yes, it could be part of the detox, but it’s not a common side effect- usually there are no negative side effects. I hope this helps!

    1. Hi John, I would recommend you use 1 bunch of celery. So that’s about 5-10 stalks. Some bunches are smaller than others- it’s not an exact science. Give it a try and if you have any issues or other questions you can email me via my website. Best, Angela

      1. I use 1 bunch every day and it is about 8 oz. Is 8 oz still beneficial, why does everyone suggest 16 oz? 16 oz was too much for me to handle at once.

        1. The Medical Medium has videos and blogs on his facebook page and website as to why he suggests 16 oz of celery juice. In general, I’d say some is better than none, and you can work up to it. You will see benefits, IMO, from 8 oz as well. Just do what you can!

  3. I’ve begun drinking 16oz of celery juice on an empty stomach. On day 2 and 3 (today) it led to watery diarrhea and total evacuation of my bowels. I’m guessing this will not help strengthen my gut if it continues. Tomorrow I plan to back it off, drink 8iz instead you f 16, and see if my body tolerates it better. Have you heard of this reaction before?

    1. Hi Marcy! Thanks for your comment. This reaction is not common, but not unheard of. You may be detoxing a bit, and I agree that you don’t want that to continue more than a few days. Back off a bit and work it in slowly. let me know how it goes and good luck!
