Boost Your Immune System Now- 3 Natural Remedies
Everybody finds the need to boost their immune system from time to time. Maybe it’s when the weather starts to change with the seasons or after a particularly stressful time in your life. Regardless of what brought you to this post, you need a few natural ways to boost your immune system and you need it now.
For over 5 years I’ve been free of sinus infections, colds, and flus and it all comes down to a few go-to natural remedies that give my body the boost it needs. Whenever I start to feel “run down” or at the first sign of a stuffy nose or tickle in the back of my throat, I turn to my favorite natural remedies to help my body find balance.
3 Ways to Boost Your Immune System Naturally
1. The Healer Tea
Several years ago while traveling and not feeling well, I discovered The Healer Tea by Nuwati Herbals and it’s been a staple in my household ever since. This tea is especially helpful with sinus issues, allergies, colds, and headaches. Anytime I start to feel “the chills” or body aches coming on or the slightest sensation of a stuffy nose from allergies or sinus issues, I make sure to drink a cup of this tea each day until I feel better. Often, when I’m starting to feel like I’m coming down with something, I feel better after drinking this tea each night for just 2-3 nights.
2. Honey + ACV Tonic
I usually turn to a honey and apple cider vinegar (ACV) tonic when I have respiratory or sinus symptoms, however, my husband swears by this tonic to boost his immune system for all types of ailments. Mix up the below ingredients in a glass and drink cold or hot at least once per day until symptoms subside. If your symptoms are really intense or acute, drink this tonic 3 times per day.
Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey Tonic to Boost Your Immune System
- 1 tsp Raw, Organic Manuka Honey
- ½ of an Organic Lemon- Fresh Squeezed
- 1 tbsp. Raw, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 pinch organic ground cinnamon
3. Oregano Oil
If you’d like an extra boost, you can also add pure oregano oil to this mix. My husband swears by this! Find a pure oregano oil tincture with a dropper at your local health foods store and follow the directions for use.
If I’m really feeling unwell, I’ll try a combination of all three of the above remedies to feel well, although most of the time just utilizing one of them boosts my immune system enough to prevent an illness. Try them out and see what works for you.
Health Coach Tip
In addition to the remedies above, if you sense your immune system needs a boost you’ll need to sleep as much as possible for a day or two. Sometimes sleep is all you need when you’re under the weather, but getting more of it in combo with the above natural remedies will help you get back on track. It’s also important to reduce stress on your body and mind as much as possible. Take a hot bath with lavender oil before bed and do some stretching and deep breathing or self-massage.
